Our 2025 Dahlia tuber sale will launch with an IN-PERSON, on the Farm sale, Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 9 am until 12 noon. This will be our ONLY in-person sale for 2025. Our ONLINE sale will begin the following day, January 12, 2025, at 9 am with any REMAINING inventory.
To preview our 2025 offerings/varieties and pricing, please browse our website inventory.
ALL INVENTORY WILL SHOW “OUT OF STOCK” until the ONLINE SALE begins on January 12, 2025, to avoid “early” purchases, and to ensure our in-person customers have the full inventory available to them on the farm on January 11, 2025. EVERYTHING LISTED ON THE WEBSITE WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE IN-PERSON SALE ON JANUARY 11, 2025, on a first-come, first-served basis. If there are certain varieties you are really hoping to purchase this year, come right at 9 am on January 11, 2025, for the highest likelihood of grabbing your favorites!
Any sold-out/reduced inventory numbers following the on-farm sale will be accounted for prior to the online sale beginning at 9 am on January 12, 2025. Once the online sale goes live at 9 am January 12, 2025, the “out of stock” blocks will be removed, and all remaining varieties/inventory will be listed as “available”. Again, it is possible certain varieties will be sold out and gone after the in-person sale on January 11, 2025.
Newsletter subscribers will be the first to know about any tuber sale updates, as well as getting a preview of available varieties first. If you would like to receive these emails, sign up for our newsletter and make sure that [email protected] is on your preferred sender’s list.
SATISFACTION: We are so grateful for your support, and want you to be happy with your order! We work hard to ensure that our tubers are true to variety and all tubers sold are guaranteed to have at least one viable eye. Our tubers are stored in a quality-controlled environment to ensure viability. Even though the tubers are “dormant” through the winter months, these are “living” things. Because of this, once the tubers leave the farm, we cannot be held responsible for improper storage, weather, temperature exposure, growing conditions, pest damage, plant performance, etc. We will provide instructions at the time of sale/pick up, regarding tips for storage and planting/growing success. We want to support you and do all we can to ensure your growing success!
LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY: All online orders are for LOCAL PICK-UP only for 2025. Pick-up dates will be Saturday, March 15 and Saturday, March 22, 2025. If you have concerns with pick-up logistics, we will do our very best to accommodate you! Please email me at [email protected] for any pick-up questions/concerns/needs.
CART: An item placed in your cart does not mean that item is reserved. Your order is only confirmed once you checkout and receive an order confirmation number and email. Please be aware that if you are trying to purchase many different varieties some may sell out before you are able to checkout. We understand the frustration of missing out on a variety that you were hoping to purchase. We appreciate your understanding and compassion even through frustration. Ultimately, we are a small family business doing the best with the stock that we have.
PAYMENT: We accept most major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Cash.
DAHLIA VIRUS: According to the American Dahlia Society’s virus research, an average of 87% of healthy, asymptomatic dahlia plants carry at least one dormant virus (yes, plants get viruses too!). Unfortunately, the dahlia virus is a common thing in the dahlia world, and because of this, the Farm works hard to ensure our plants are healthy and virus-free. We are VIGILANT about examining plants for viruses and culling any that look diseased (we are happy to report that we have had no such suspect plants at all to date). Tools are disinfected between cutting blooms, and during the tuber dividing process.
Additionally, we are NOT a “you pick” destination, specifically for this reason. Opening fields to outside harvesting, with many individuals cutting many plants indiscriminately, with no disinfection occurring between plants, is a setup for viral spread and contamination (and not just of dahlias- many plant viruses can move from one species to another).
However, be advised that we do not test for viruses, nor do the vast majority of dahlia growers. Because of this, it is impossible for any grower to state with 100% certainty that a healthy appearing dahlia and tuber may not be harboring a dormant virus. So, all tuber purchases regardless of the source of the tuber, or who the buyer is, come with this inherent risk of a dormant virus. The buyer assumes these risks.
There are also many outside, non-viral factors that can manifest in “virus like” symptoms such as leaf spots, leaf discoloration, curled leaves, poor growth. There are a finite number of ways a plant displays signs of stress, regardless of the source. Poor soil, improper nutrients, extremes in heat/temperature, improper watering/hydration can all present in ways that can mimic a virus. A poor performing plant can have many etiologies.
ALL TUBERS SOLD BY TWO TREES FLOWER FARM ARE GROWN AND PRODUCED ON OUR FARM, which matters A LOT.
Producing our own tubers dramatically INCREASES the likelihood of getting an exceptional, healthy tuber and plant. We as a farm vigilantly watch these plants the entire growing season to ensure they are, and remain, healthy-appearing. We as a farm ensure proper soil, water, and nutrient conditions, as well as disinfection and harvesting techniques, and we as a farm are individually dividing and inspecting each and every tuber. If you are purchasing “pass through” tubers from a farm that has not grown the tubers they are selling (tubers that are purchased wholesale in bulk and then resold) the quality and health of these tubers is not guaranteed, given that they are unproven and have not been grown nor produced by that seller.
Once tubers leave the Farm, Two Trees cannot be held responsible for the myriad environmental and outside factors that can impact the health, vigor, and viability of the plant. We are always a resource and want nothing more than for you to be wildly successful and completely thrilled with your dahlias, so please reach out with any questions or concerns!
